What Does the BMW Maintenance Program Cover?
Currently I own a Lexus RX 330 and every time I take it into the dealership for it's scheduled maintenance I get nickeled and dimed. Last two times I've taken it in for it's oil change and scheduled maintenance it's cost me $2,000. A good chunk of that cost has been to repair "leaks", which I did check and were legitimate. But the cost of the maintenance by itself was close to $1,000 and break pads were $325, which is something I know the BMW does cover. I've researched this and heard a lot of conflicting views, but I'd like to hear what y'all think. Also does it cover said leaks (gaskets, radiator, etc.)?
The initial 4yrs/50K miles warranty and maintenance would certainly cover those leaks. Other than that they also cover brake pads and rotors, oil change, drive belt, brake liquid, and more. For more information see: http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/owner/bmwultimateservice/default.aspx
The extended CPO warranty (6 yrs/100K miles) doesn't cover maintenance costs beyond the initial 4 yrs/50K miles and has some limitation on warranty compared to the initial period as well.
