Should I Buy a Black 1996 BMW 328IS Coupe with 111000 miles for $5000?

This car is from the original owner.
It seems to be garage kept.
It looks like its in mint condition and its bone stock I am sure he took care of it.
This will be my first car and I am 17 but the insurance wont be under my name. I just want to know if its reliable and worth buying. Thanks...

Thats great that it is the original owner because it means he probably took care of it. If it has all the paperwork even better! These cars are great (I have a 97 328) and will last a long time if you keep up with the maintanence. Oil change every 3000 miles and clean air filter will keep your car running good.

I live in California and my 97 328 with 175,000 miles is worth about $4000. According to KBB.com the car is worth about $4500. It might be worth the higher price to you because it is hard to find these cars in good condition with all the previous paperwork. I paid an extra $1000 over what mine was worth in 2005 for this same reason.

Good luck with the purchase. Some things that wear out around this mileage is the cooling system, If it doesn't have it already get a metal thermostat housing for the car.
